Continue through the lush Skoura Oasis to discover the historic Amridil Kasbah, then journey along the beautiful Dades Valley and the dramatic Todra Gorges. The adventure leads you to the Merzouga Sahara Desert, where you will enjoy a camel trek across the golden dunes, witness breathtaking sunset and sunrise views, and spend a magical night in a desert camp under the stars. Explore the vast Sahara around Merzouga in a 4×4 vehicle for a deeper desert experience.

Along the way, visit the traditional market of Rissani and the fossil-rich town of Erfoud before heading north to Ifrane, often called the Switzerland of Morocco, and the nearby cedar forests home to the Barbary macaques. Tour Plan :

1st day: Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait ben Haddou Kasbah– Roses Vally – Dades Valley

The 6-day Marrakech to Fes desert tour begins with an early morning pickup from the airport or your accommodation in Marrakech. You will then travel through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains, crossing the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass, with several stops along the way to enjoy panoramic views of the dramatic landscapes.

Next, continue to the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a fortified village and UNESCO World Heritage Site. This iconic site has served as the backdrop for numerous films such as Gladiator, Alexander, and The Mummy, as well as TV series like Game of Thrones.

After the visit, head toward Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert.” Enjoy free time for lunch before continuing through the beautiful Rose Valley, passing the vast palm groves of Skoura. In the late afternoon, drive to Boumalne Dades, where you will check into your hotel and spend the night.

2nd day : Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Dunes – Camel trekking – overnight in a luxury camp

After breakfast, we set off through the Dades Valley, stopping at a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the Dades Gorges to admire the dramatic scenery. The journey then continues to the Todra Gorges, where the Todra River has carved an impressive canyon with towering red cliffs. Take time to walk through the gorges and fully appreciate the striking natural beauty.

We then drive through the lush palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad, with free time along the way to enjoy lunch.

In the afternoon, we arrive at the Merzouga Sahara Desert. Here, you will switch to camels and begin a trek across the golden dunes. Pause atop a high dune to witness a magical sunset before continuing to the luxury desert camp. In the evening, enjoy a traditional dinner, Berber drum music, and dancing around the campfire beneath a vast, star-filled sky. Overnight stay at the desert camp.

3rd day : Explore Merzouga region – Nomads – Khamlia – Merzouga lake – Erg Chebbi – Palm Grove

Wake up early to witness the stunning sunrise in the heart of the desert—a truly unforgettable experience. After breakfast, return to Merzouga either by camel or 4×4, where your driver will be waiting to continue the adventure. Today is dedicated to exploring the incredible sights around Merzouga, from vast sand dunes and wild lakes to ancient mines, fossil sites, and lush oases—perfect for outdoor exploration.

Start the day with an off-road drive to visit an ancient eyeliner (galena) mine. Next, meet local nomads in their traditional woven tents, share a cup of Berber tea, and learn about their unique way of life. Continue to the village of Khamlia, where you’ll enjoy lively Gnaoua music and dance performances by residents whose roots trace back to sub-Saharan countries such as Mali, Sudan, and Niger.

After free time for lunch at a local restaurant, take a relaxing stroll through a nearby palm grove, then drive a short distance to the wild Merzouga Lake, also known as Flamingo Lake. The day concludes with dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel in the area.

4th day: Merzouga Dunes – Erfoud – Midelt – cedars forest – Ifrane – Fes 

After breakfast, we leave the desert and head to Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Rissani remains an important trading center, with its vibrant souk bustling on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Take time to explore the colorful market before continuing to Erfoud, where you can visit a workshop specializing in fossilized marble.

The journey continues along the Ziz River, with a stop to enjoy panoramic views of the lush Ziz Valley. Pause for lunch in Midelt before heading to the cedar forests, home to the playful Barbary macaques feel free to feed them and enjoy a walk among the trees.

Next, visit the charming town of Ifrane, known for its cool climate, snowy winters, and European-style architecture, earning it the nickname “Switzerland of Morocco.” The day concludes with your arrival in Fes, where you will spend the night and enjoy a free evening exploring the bustling Medina.

5th day : Guided tour sightseeing Fes

After breakfast, we’ll pick you up from your accommodation in Fes to begin an immersive exploration of one of Morocco’s most iconic imperial cities, the country’s cultural and spiritual heart.

The day begins with a scenic driving tour. Stop first at the magnificent Royal Palace Gate, then visit “The Mellah,” Fes’s historic Jewish Quarter. Continue to the Borj Sud fortress for panoramic views over the ancient Medina, and finish this portion of the tour at the Ceramic Village & School, where you can witness traditional Moroccan craftsmanship in action.

Next, embark on a walking tour through the medieval Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best-preserved historic towns in the Arab world. Accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide, explore highlights such as the Al Attarine Madrasa, the University and Mosque of Al Quaraouiyine considered the world’s oldest existing university and the colorful Chouara Tanneries, where leather is dyed using centuries-old techniques.

After a full day of history, culture, and vibrant sights, you’ll be returned to your riad to relax and reflect on your unforgettable Fes experience.

6th day : Transfer to the airport

Depending on your flight schedule, we will pick you up from your riad and transfer you to Fes Airport for departure. This marks the end of your unforgettable Morocco desert tour from Marrakech.
