Today, your Sahara Camel Trips driver will pick you up at 9:00 a.m. from your hotel in Errachidia to begin your 2-day Errachidia to Merzouga tour. Along the way, we’ll stop for a panoramic view of the stunning Ziz Valley, Morocco’s second-longest and one of its most beautiful valleys.
The journey continues toward the Erg Chebbi dunes, passing through Aoufous and Erfoud—a town famous for its fossils and annual date festival. Here, you can visit a local fossil workshop if you wish. Afterward, we arrive at the captivating Erg Chebbi, also known as the Merzouga Dunes.
Upon arrival at the hotel, prepare for a 1.5-hour camel trek to watch the mesmerizing sunset over the dunes. You can try sandboarding, take photos, and soak in the views. After sunset, your camel ride continues to the desert camp, where you’ll be welcomed with mint tea and a delicious dinner. Enjoy traditional Berber drumming under a sky full of stars before spending the night in the desert camp.
The next day, we suggest waking up early to witness the breathtaking sunrise from the top of a dune near your desert camp. After enjoying this magical moment, return to the camp for breakfast and a refreshing shower. Once ready, ride your camel back to the starting point, or return by 4×4 if you prefer.
Later, you’ll meet your driver to continue your 2-day Errachidia to Merzouga tour back toward Errachidia. Along the way, we’ll stop at the traditional weekly market of Rissani if it falls on market day (Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday). Enjoy additional stops for panoramic views, photos, and free time for lunch. In the afternoon, arrive in Errachidia, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or airport, marking the end of our services.
