10 Days Holiday in Morocco from Tangier. Over the course of 10 days and 9 nights, you will explore some of the most incredible destinations in Morocco. The tour begins in Tangier, the city closest to Spain and Europe. First, you will visit Cape Spartel and the Hercules Cave. Next, cross the Rif Mountains and wander through the charming blue streets of Chefchaouen, followed by a visit to the well-preserved Roman ruins of Volubilis.
Continue to Fes and Meknes for sightseeing, then visit Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and the nearby cedar forests. Experience the magic of the Sahara desert in Merzouga with camel rides and enjoy unforgettable sunsets and sunrises over the dunes. Explore the Merzouga region, then walk through the spectacular Todra and Dades gorges.

On the first day of your 10-day Morocco holiday from Tangier, we will pick you up from your accommodation, the airport, or the port in Tangier. Known as “the Bride of the North,” Tangier is located where the Mediterranean meets the Atlantic near Cape Spartel. We begin with a visit to the Hercules Caves and Cape Spartel, followed by free time for lunch. In the afternoon, we drive inland to Chefchaouen, passing through Tetouan and the Rif Mountains, with stops for panoramic views along the way. Overnight stay in a riad in Chefchaouen.
After breakfast, we will explore Chefchaouen, the famous blue city, with a local guide. Also called Achaoun, meaning “horns” in Berber, the city is nestled in the Rif Mountains of northwest Morocco. It is renowned for its white and blue painted buildings and charming alleyways. We will start with a stroll through the old Medina, where you can admire the authentic blue doors and whitewashed walls. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon, you have the option to hike up to the Spanish Mosque, located on a hill with panoramic views of the entire city. Finally, return to your hotel for an overnight stay in the same riad.
After breakfast, take a last stroll through the charming streets of Chefchaouen before driving to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. This well-preserved UNESCO World Heritage Site features stunning mosaics, pillars, and arches that reflect its rich history. After exploring Volubilis, drive about 30 km to Meknes, the former Ismaili capital, where you will visit Bab al-Mansour, the Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal Stables, the granaries, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Continue onward to Fes for an overnight stay in a riad.
After breakfast, we will pick you up from your riad in Fes to begin a full day of exploring one of Morocco’s most iconic imperial cities, known as the country’s cultural and spiritual heart.
The day begins with a driving tour, starting at the Royal Palace Gate, followed by a visit to the historic Jewish Quarter, known as the Mellah. We will then stop at Borj Sud fortress to enjoy panoramic views of the ancient Medina. The next stop is the Ceramic Village and School, where you can observe traditional craftsmanship in action.
In the afternoon, enjoy a walking tour through the medieval Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best-preserved historic towns in the Arab world. With a knowledgeable local guide, you will visit the Al Attarine Madrasa, the University and Mosque of Al Quaraouiyine, and the colorful Chouara Tanneries, where leather is dyed using age-old methods.
At the end of the day, you will return to your riad for relaxation and overnight stay.
After breakfast, your 10-day Morocco holiday continues south through Imouzzer to Ifrane, a town famous for its cool climate, winter snow, and alpine-style architecture, often called “the Switzerland of Morocco.” Next, we visit the cedar forest, home to wild Barbary macaques.
Later, we drive to Midelt for free time to enjoy lunch before crossing the Tizi n’Talghamt Pass and following the scenic Ziz Valley, with stops to take in the views.
In the afternoon, we arrive at the Sahara desert near Merzouga. Here, you will switch to camels for a ride across the dunes, pausing atop a high dune to watch the sunset. Afterward, continue to your desert camp, a mix of traditional nomad tents and modern comforts. Enjoy Berber drumming around the campfire under a star-filled sky. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.
After breakfast, spend the day exploring the Merzouga region, home to sand dunes, a seasonal lake, mines, fossil sites, and lush palm oases perfect for outdoor activities. Begin with an off-road drive to an old kohl (eyeliner) mine, then visit nomad families in their traditional woven tents, where you can learn about their lifestyle over a glass of Berber tea.
Next, visit the village of Khamlia to enjoy Gnawa music and dance performances. After free time for lunch, take a walk through a nearby palm grove, then drive a short distance to Merzouga’s seasonal lake, often visited by flamingos. Return to Merzouga for dinner and overnight at a Riad or desert camp.
Wake up early to witness the stunning desert sunrise. After breakfast, leave the desert and head to Rissani, the former capital of Tafilalet, known for its vibrant souk held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Continue to Erfoud to visit a workshop specializing in fossilized marble.
Drive through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad to reach the Todra Gorges, where the river has carved a dramatic canyon with towering red cliffs, a favorite spot for climbers. Take free time to explore the gorge and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, continue to the Dades Valley via Boumalne Dades, with stops at the “Monkey Fingers” rock formations and a scenic viewpoint overlooking the valley. Dinner and overnight stay in a Riad.
After breakfast, drive to Kalaa Mgouna to explore the Valley of Roses, where each May the Rose Festival highlights local products such as rose water, essential oils, and cosmetics. Continue through the palm groves of Skoura to visit the Kasbah of Amredhyle, then head to Ouarzazate to tour the film studios.
Next, visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a backdrop for films like Gladiator, Alexander, and The Mummy, as well as the series Game of Thrones. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, stopping for lunch and photos along the way. Overnight stay in a riad in Marrakech.
After a hearty breakfast, you will explore the highlights of Marrakech with a local guide. As one of Morocco’s historic imperial cities, Marrakech is full of culture and stunning architecture. The tour includes a visit to the 19th-century Bahia Palace and the beautifully preserved Ben Youssef Madrasa, a former Islamic school showcasing traditional Moroccan design. You will also wander through the lively Medina and its bustling souks, experience the vibrant atmosphere of Jamaa El Fna Square, and admire the Koutoubia Mosque from the outside, the largest mosque in the city.
Enjoy free time for lunch. In the afternoon, meet your driver to visit the iconic Majorelle Garden (online pre-booking required), then drive through Gueliz, the modern district of Marrakech, before returning to your riad.
After breakfast, we will pick you up from your accommodation in Marrakech and drive to Casablanca. If time allows, we can visit the Hassan II Mosque before transferring you to the airport. This marks the end of your 10-day Morocco holiday from Tangier. The tour can also be arranged to conclude in Marrakech if preferred.
